Virginia’s Western Highlands Artisan Trail —  a collection of homegrown crafters and artists  ready to show off their products. The trail includes lodging and restaurant information to help your visit be a great one.


There are over sixty sites across the 4-county region. Here’s what’s in Craig:


In Paint Bank in the old Post Office building is Mountain Crafters, with a varied collection of handmade gifts and decor. More gifts and Made-in-Virginia is across the street at the Paint Bank General Store. In the fall, Joe’s Trees Gift Shop is stocked with homemade jams and jellies, local art, and award-winning evergreen wreaths.

The restaurant on the trail is the Swinging Bridge in Paint Bank. which along with delicious food, has great photo ops and a roaring fireplace on chilly days.

Additional restaurants in the county include Pine Top, Lasterday Market and Bibo’s Pizzeria.



Lodging includes Big Pine Trout Farm, The Depot Lodge, and The New Castle Inn.

Wilderness Adventure at Eagle Landing offers lodging, meals and great outdoor recreation. Call them to ask about spending an afternoon on the Zip-Line!


Agri-tourism opportunities are Joe’s Trees – Next Gen Farm, Black Diamond Ranch, and Barefoot Farms. Craig also is lucky to have Woodall Blueberries and Silver Lining Asparagus, in season of course!


Points of Interest are the Old Brick Hotel and the Visitor’s Center at the Public Library.
